World War II (also known as the Clan Wars) was a serious of constant battles between the clans and newly formed organised armies. The battles have mostly occurred after the color wars, but it is possible some battles happened at the same time.

After the color clans slowly began to decline, Club Penguin Armies began to evolve into armies based on name and clothing rather color. Most clans during this time were still unorganized and based their headquarters on Club Penguin. However, some clans began to become armies by organizing themselves on the Miniclip Forums. During this time period, most new Club Penguin users came from Miniclip, and the Miniclip Forums were the center of Club Penguin culture. Through the Miniclip Forums, Vital Viper founded Mammoth as the “Forum Server,” thus making it a hot spot for warfare and Club Penguin Armies, especially during WWII.

Countless number of battles occurred during WWII, but unfortunately not very many battles were recorded, remembered, or have since then been deleted.

Although dozens or maybe even hundreds of clans were made during this period, the main clans and armies that are known to have existed and participated in this era were the Romans, Vikings, Pirates, Penguin Secret Agency (PSA), Army of Club Penguin (ACP), Club Penguin Army (CPA), and the Club Penguin United Nations Space Commission (CPUNSC). Armies like the Underground Mafias Army (UMA), Club Penguin Marines (CPM), and the Nachos were still forming, or in the Nachos’ case, still a clan. The ACP, Romans, and the CPUNSC were the first armies to officially organize on the Miniclip forums.

A well-known fact was that the Roman clan had invaded much of Club Penguin since the release of the roman helmet in October of 2006. The Romans were a clan no longer after Explorer7777 created an organized center for the Romans on the Miniclip forums just within a few days after Oagalthorp’s creation of the Army of Club Penguin on September 29, 2006. The Romans and the ACP were powerful armies, and it wasn’t too long before they went to war. One of the Roman and ACP battles in WWII was recalled in The ACP Saga.

Note: The Romans is universally recognized as a clan during this era, despite being organized.

Note 2: This war historically overlaps with World War I, causing a split in what's historically accurate or not of this time period.

The War[]

important note: historical accuracy of some dates and events is questionable

Early battles[]

Early Roman Clan - pre World War I (February 3rd, 2006 - June 2nd, 2006)[]

The Roman helmet was first introduced February 3rd, 2006. This potentially kick started the Roman clan, as suggested by Oagalthorp in the ACP Saga. This Roman clan was likely a large super power among the CP proto-clans. This clan however was heavily unorganized. This clan likely fell into irrelevancy, as clans likely weren't huge at this time. The Roman helmet was removed June 2nd, 2006, which likely brought the clan into obscurity until it's regain into the community. This would pave way for World War I to kick off, thus beginning Club Penguin Armies as we know it.

Dawn of the clans (September 2006)[]

Despite overlapping with the Color wars, many clans began to show up. These clans would use many new uniforms in effort to identify themselves. They were heavily unorganized and most had no proper leader. They would engage in fights at the Snow Forts and the Dojo, especially on the server of Mammoth, which was founded as the new army server by Vital Viper. Some clans would have some organization on the Miniclip forums, but none as expansive as later armies. Many battles occurred within this period, but none were well recorded. Many clans included the proto-clan of the Club Penguin Army, the Penguin Secret Agency, the Club Penguin United Nations Space Commission, the Vikings, the Pirates, the Ninjas, and early Nachos.

Rise and creation of the Army of Club Penguin (September 29th, 2006)[]

A former Blue clan veteran, Oagalthorp founded the first ever organized army in CPA history, the Army of Club Penguin (the ACP). This army quickly would grow due to it's interesting uniform and it's organization on Miniclip forums. This new super power grew immensely in size, destroying many clans and rising up as one of the greatest, laying a long legacy.

Rise of the Romans and ACP[]

As the new clan era was growing, so did one of the greatest proto-clans, the Romans. It is very likely this new Roman wave began in late September around the time of ACP, due to the common usage of the Roman helmet. However, October 6th brought a surge of Roman and ACP troops as the Roman helmet was reintroduced. More and more Roman clans began to show up. However, something unlike the previous proto-clans showed up. A newly organized army, the Romans, organized by Explorer7777, showed up on the Miniclip forums a few days after ACP created their thread. This new clan was described by some as a ruthless clan, wiping out nearly every single clan in the entire community. However, it came up with a new challenge, the Army of Club Penguin. The Romans feared this new army and both came around to similar sizes. It was estimated that the Romans had amassed an army of 50 and the ACP, 35. Explorer threatened ACP to surrender and that they will "grind them into dust". This did not stop ACP, and the war continued.

Battle of the Igloo and climax (October 13th, 2006)[]

ACP likely saw Romans as a threat to it's power, taking into consideration it was one of the 3 clans/armies that organized itself on the Miniclip forums formally. Friday the 13th of October 2006, the first major battle in all of CPA history occurred. This was the first formal battle between two organized groups on Club Penguin. At 3 PM PST, in an igloo on Mammoh, Oagalthorp attacked first, which caused all out war between the Romans and ACP. After 30 minutes (traditionally the time of most battles in CPA), the Romans retreated while ACP declared victory. It was described that some Romans remained behind, but were ultimately defeated. This was the first and last major battle of this war. It appears that soon after, Explorer7777 faded away in the CPA community, never to be formally seen again.

Excerpt from the ACP Saga:

“On Friday the 13, the Romans marched onto our battlefield. This was the first formal battle any of us had ever fought in, and marked the beginning of WWII. We waited on the right side of the battlefield while the massive Roman army advanced. At 3:00pm PST (though PST was not established yet), I fired the first shot, and all Hell broke loose. We had fought for half an hour, and neither side was starting to give. […]

[…]

Finally, half an hour later, enough Romans had retreated for us to declare victory. A few of the enemies failed to accept defeat, but most of them did. The first and last major battle of WWII was through. We had defeated the Roman Army, which vastly out-manned us, and upon their destruction most of their soldiers joined the ranks of the ACP. Though WWII raged on, it was isolated to Dojos throughout CP, especially on Mammoth. The Army didn’t give up, and allied with the Vikings and Nachos, who helped us in our fight against the Roman Clans that continued to stream into the peaceful servers of CP.” ~Oagalthorp

Legacy[]

This specific war has gone down in history as one of the most widespread wars. This war has been constantly looked back on and researched by many people interested in CPA history. This established legacy has helped bring a sense of nationalism to the later generations of the Romans, which have sprung up many times since its final reformation into an organized army in 2007.
